There are two means of refuge from the miseries of life: music and cats. Albert Schweitzer My personal web site, Dave's Park was first opened in the summer of 1996. It was a simple five page site with one photo and a few links. Over the years the site grew to more than six hundred pages in categories such as info about who I am, my music, poetry, humor, recipes, genealogy, spirituality, model railroading, favorite links and much more. The world turns and is always changing. By 2015 the web site was no longer relevent in many ways. Dave's Park has been a place where I met many wonderful friends and discovered relatives I never even knew I had. We shared common interests and we stayed in touch. Over time, many on-line friends drifted away as interests changed. Sadly, most of my closest on-line friends have passed on to the next world. The few friends I have left from the hey-days of Dave's Park and relatives living in other parts of the world are all on facebook and that is where we continue to connect. Social media has, in large part, replaced the personal web site for many of us. The maintenece of a web site as large and complex as Dave's Park was an expenditure of time and energy that I could no longer keep up or even justify trying. The time has come.
